YAY! Warhammer Geek's new wiki has launched. Now, your probably thinking, "OH NO! Not another Warhammer Wiki!", Well I am here to tell you this one will be run a bit different than most standard wiki's.

Our WarWiki will act more like a database which you find at websites such as Allakhazam and others. We soon realized that our idea of making a traditional Warhammer wiki was already overrun by a cornucopia of others such as Wikia, Mmo-wikis, and Warhammer Wiki. Thus we designed our wiki to include less "descriptive" information which other websites may have such as lore, various game guides, combat mechanics, etc. and instead focus on providing the community with hard information about items, zones, quests, points of interest, etc.

As you will soon see, our wiki is currently bare. We expect it to remain so (except for a few pages) until the NDA has been dropped. Right now the main goal is start working on the template design to gear it towards the Warhammer Online game mechanics so once the flood gates open, our wiki will be user friendly for data input. We're almost half way there.

Users are certainly welcome to add guides and extra Warhammer information to our wiki however Warhammer Geek staff will not be obligated to maintain it. If another wiki has more information to something in which we do not want to elaborate on, templates will be put in place so users can easily link over and redirect viewers to the information they are looking for.

We would like to thank some current and previous staff over at EQ2 Wikia for giving us a jump start on the scripts we needed. Believe it or not, Everquest II and Warhammer Online have similar data structures when it comes to compiling game information in a single location. Templates used from them are credited appropriately.

Without further ado you may head to our WarGeek Wiki Database (http://wiki.warhammergeek.com).

Future Expectations: Depending on how the EULA(s) reads, you may find in the future that MMOGeek will be releasing a network game log parser which automatically sends information to our wiki(s) for data submission.

Author's Comment: If you like designing wiki templates (I can't imagine anybody would unless their crazy), then we would definitely appreciate your company. Any UI screenshots (approved by Mythic for public release) you may have that aren't sprawled across 100 of sites already are also welcome as a UI tell a lot about game mechanics and in a wiki's case, the template designs.
